Application Deadline for New Committees Extended to Jan. 10
Apparently a lot of folks are interested in serving on the committees studying different forms of government and Island Avenue School uses.

MADISON, CT — The town announced Monday afternoon that "due to overwhelming interest" the applcaitions for seats on two new ad-hoc town committees has been extended.
The Board of Selectmen extended the application deadline to Friday, Jan. 2020.
"If you are interested in serving, please complete your application through the Town website no later than January 10th. Interviews for all interested applicants will begin the week of Jan. 13, 2020."

The Board of Selectmen approved two ad-hoc committees; one to study different forms of government and recommend possible changes to Madison's government structure and the other to research the possible future use of the Island Avenue School. The Ad-Hoc Government study Committee will "run in advance of the formal establishment of the Charter Review Committee," the town said.
Previously, as reported by Patch, the deadline was Dec. 27, 2019 and has now been extended until Friday Jan. 10.

A copy of the committee's full charge can be found here. For residents interested in serving on the committees, applications are now due by Jan. 10, 2020. The Board of Selectmen will review all applications received and will appoint the members.

The Ad-Hoc Island Avenue Future Use Committee will research the possible future use of the Island Avenue School. Read more about that committee's charge here and find the application here.
