The Barn Launches “Boredom Buster Days” for School Closures

New program provides structured fun & dependable care for local families on no-school days and vacation weeks.

The Barn’s doors are always open to all, and now that includes days when School is closed!

The Barn is thrilled to introduce Boredom Buster Days, a new program designed to give families a reliable, engaging option for kids on days when school is not in session. Instead of scrambling for childcare or watching the day slip by on screens, students can spend their day creating, playing, and connecting in a safe, supervised environment.

Boredom Buster Days are built around fun, choice, and variety. Participants rotate through games, creative projects, and hands-on activities that keep minds and bodies active. The program is led by The Barn’s experienced staff, who focus on creating a welcoming space where kids feel supported, included, and excited to participate.

Boredom Buster Days run from 9 am - 3 pm, with extended hour coverage options allowing for 8:30 am drop off and 5 pm pick up. Activities during the extended hours will be in a more free-play format, providing many options for kids to keep busy and have fun in a less-structured way.
The program officially kicks off this Presidents Day with sessions on February 16 and 17, and continues throughout the spring on Monday, March 16, Friday, April 3, and during April Vacation Week, April 20–24. With the flexible format, families can register for all days, just one, or any mix-and-match number of days they want.

For local families, it is a simple idea with a big impact: when school is out, kids still have a place to go where the day is filled with creativity, fun, and social connection.
