Baseball Field Renovations Approved in Madison: Report
A new report came back after safety concerns at the field were raised. Officials vow that the project will come in on budget.

MADISON, CT — Let's play ball, well soon enough. The Finance Board has green lit plans to upgrade the Town Campus baseball field, which is in need of significant upgrades, the Madison Source reports.
The budget will not exceed $150,000, officials said. Madison Baseball officials raised safety concerns about the field but First Selectman Thomas Banisch asserted last year that there were no safety issues and sought to have the $150,000, which was allocated in the capital improvement plan go toward purchasing new fencing and bleachers and other upgrades, the Source reports.
After a report came back recently showing no safety issues, everyone is now on the same page and work will proceed on installing 6-foot high perimeter fencing, improving the infield including the backstop, and a place for attendees to sit, the Source reports. Work is scheduled to be completed by April 1.
