The RecF robotics program is built on a foundational student-led philosophy. They believe that the greatest learning happens when students are in the driver’s seat. Educators and mentors exist to guide, facilitate, and ensure safety, but every design decision, line of code, and strategy is entirely student-owned. By navigating their own challenges and failures, students build true ownership, resilience, and confidence.Core Mission &amp; Focus:While competition is an exciting and motivating part of our season, it is not our ultimate definition of success. Our program focuses deeply on:The Progression of building, continuous learning, team building, &amp; mentorship! Competition Strategy &amp; ScheduleTo provide a platform for growth and external collaboration, our program commits to participating in a minimum of two in-state Connecticut tournaments within the newly official RECF pathway. These events are viewed not as high-stakes pressure cookers, but as vital learning experiences where teams can test their designs, practice sportsmanship, and gain inspiration from peers across the state. 5th Grade Social is all about celebrating all of the friendships, memories, and fun had at The Barn on Friday, September 25th from 7-9pm!
This high-energy night gives 5th graders their moment to shine on the dance floor. With DJ Bry spinning crowd-favorite hits, the dance floor stays buzzing while kids mix, mingle, and burn off some energy all while enjoying a safe &amp; social atmosphere.
Beyond the music, there’s plenty to keep the fun rolling:

<h3>Women &amp; Family Life Center Offering Bereavement Support Group This Fall</h3>
W&amp;FLC will offer an eight-session Bereavement Support Group this fall for individuals navigating grief and loss.
Led by social worker Dr. Margo Merin, the group offers a supportive and confidential space to process grief, share experiences, connect with others, and feel supported through the grieving process. The group recognizes that grief is deeply personal and can look different for everyone.
The group will meet Mondays from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. at the Women &amp; Family Life Center Carriage House, 96 Fair Street in Guilford.
Sessions will be held on September 28; October 5, 19 and 26; and November 2, 9, 16 and 23.
