UPDATE: After 10 hours of searching, the Coast Guard has called off its search for a possible missing boat off of the coast of Madison. No boat was found or has been reported missing, NBC Connecticut reports.
MADISON, CT — The Coast Guard is searching for a possible missing boat off the coast of Madison in Long Island Sound Thursday morning, according to media reports. The search operation was triggered after two distress flares were sent off around 11 p.m., WTNH News 8 reports.
Crews have been searching since the middle of the night for the boat. The search is still ongoing.

NBC Connecticut says the Coast Guard has spotted two kayaks and that the missing boat is believed to be off the coast of Middle Beach.
