Controversy Over Madison's Democratic Candidate's Remarks About Malloy

In an article in the Yale Daily News, the candidate cast doubts over Malloy's re-election chances in Madison.

Democratic State Representative Candidate Alex Taubes’ recent comments regarding Governor Malloy’s re-election chances in Madison have created a little controversy, Jack Kramer reports from The Source.

In a recent article in the Yale Daily News, Taubes, the 25-year-old candidate for the 101st District is quoted as saying, “He’s going to do badly here,” regarding Malloy’s chances of re-election in Madison, “We don’t ask people about Malloy.”

Noreen Kokoruda, a Republican has represented the district, which includes Madison and part of Durham since 2011.

In the article, Taubes was talking about his headquarters in Madison instructing callers not to ask voters about Malloy.

According to The Source, Taubes said the quote was taken out of context in the article adding that they had identified 200 new voters supporting Malloy’s campaign in Madison.

Taubes took responsibility for his remarks saying he should not have made the remarks and his campaign is working hard to get Malloy re-elected.
