Coronavirus Madison: All Cosmetology-Related Business Must Close

MADISON, CT — The town has ordered all cosmetic services like hairdressers, nail salons, estheticians, eyelash technicians, and massage therapists to close to help stop the spread of coronavirus.

And Madison health director Trent C. Jospeh says all barbers and cosmetologists need to "cease operations indefinitely until further notice."

He wrote that given COVID 19 is spread mainly from person-to-person contact, the "nature of your profession puts you in direct contact with your clients and customers. Therefore, the risk of transmission may be higher."
