Daniel Hand 'Community Member' Tests Positive For Coronavirus
The first case in the school district, the person had already been in quarantine for two days when the positive test result came back.
MADISON, CT — A member of the Daniel Hand High School community has tested positive for COVID-19, interim schools superintendent JeanAnn C. Paddyfote noted in a message to families Wednesday.
Paddyfoote said the person, whether a student or staff member is unknown, was told to remain home and quarantine.
"Through investigation and consultation with the affected individual, the District Administration and Department of Public Health feel confident that Madison Public Schools can remain open," Paddyfoote said.

And, she said that while being the "first case in the district, it's not a result of school-based transmission."
She said the person who tested positive had been in quarantine for more than 48 hours prior to exhibiting symptoms, eliminating the possibility of close contacts in our district.
