Football Game Involving Foran High To Raise Funds For Stand Up 2 Cancer
All donations will be in honor of Danni Kemp, a Joseph A. Foran High School graduate who died after a courageous battle with cancer.

MADISON, CT – The Daniel Hand High School Football team philanthropic pursuits now include helping out cancer research. The Tigers October 6th home game against Joseph A. Foran High School of Milford at the Surf Club will be a fundraiser as coordinated between the football team and Stand Up 2 Cancer.
Daniel Ives, a special education teacher and volunteer football coach at Hand, said the following events have been planned:

“Stand Up 2 Cancer signs available for purchase at the gates of the field. Each sign has a blank space where you can put the name of a loved one who is battling or has battled cancer. ($1 each, all proceeds going directly to American Cancer Society)”;
“All donations will be in honor of Danni Kemp (Softball player from Foran HS who passed away from an inoperable case of brain cancer)”;

“Players of the DHHS football team will wear pink paw logos on the sides of their helmets as a display of support”;

“Currently trying to arrange a halftime announcement where all purchasers of signs can join together for a display of support on midfield.”
Earlier this year, the football team and other athletes participated in two Special Olympic events.
The efforts have been coordinated by head football coach Dave Mastroianni, who has overseen community involvement work by the student-athletes.
