“Time and again, the Madison Public Schools, and Daniel Hand High School receive recognitions for the outstanding achievements of our students. Most recently, Newsweek named Daniel Hand one of the top 500 high schools in the entire country. Much of the credit goes to the parents who send their children to our schools ready to learn each day, to the community for providing us with the necessary resources, even in the most difficult economic times, and to the teachers, administrators, and support staff who work each day to make our district one of the top school districts in the entire nation,” said Thomas Scarice, schools superintendent.
“That said, as a district, we do not allow these accolades to define us. We are more than awards, recognitions and rankings. We work to improve each year and to not rest on our laurels. Additionally, we are always mindful of the methodologies of any ranking system, fully aware that no single ranking or score can capture all that we do in conjunction with our parents and the community. We will continue to focus on the “right” work with our students regardless of recognitions. We owe that to each and every student we serve,” Scarice said.
