MADISON, CT - Vibe, Daniel Hand High School's show choir, will compete this week on a new episode of WGBH's Sing That Thing! Sing That Thing, which is a public television competition that celebrates the tradition and talent of New England singing groups.
The episode airs this Saturday, May 7 at 7:30pm on CPTV.

Twenty-four amateur singing groups from across New England were selected from a field of more than 80 groups. Over the course of eight episodes, Sing That Thing! introduces viewers to a variety of genres from the world of vocal music, including a cappella, jazz, spirituals, hip hop, show choir and classical. Hosted by Boston Children’s Chorus Artistic Director Anthony Trecek-King, Sing That Thing! includes groups from three categories: high school, collegiate and adult. A live-to-tape semi-final and finale feature the top group from each category presenting their unique spin on a medley of selected songs. The series is produced by public media producer WGBH, in partnership with Emerson College and with WGBY (Springfield, MA,) Maine Public Broadcasting Network, New Hampshire Public Television, Vermont PBS and CPTV - Connecticut Public Television.

With over 75 members in the full show choir ensemble, Vibe is currently ranked the #1 show choir in New England. This group of talented singers and dancers from Daniel Hand High in Madison, Connecticut is an audition-only group that meets every day after school to rehearse. Since 2000, director Ron Soja has grown the choir from a small choral group in jeans and black shirts to the dedicated, committed and flashy group it is today. With help from parents, school, administrators, set designers, choreographers and students, Vibe continues to grow and achieve success.
