Previous public office, appointive or elective
I was appointed Deputy State Auditor in 2016 and served in that capacity through March 2022
Why are you seeking this office?
I want to make Connecticut a better and more affordable state for our future generations.
Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ___, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Affordability - we need to cut state spending and taxes.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I am a fiscal conservative and am committed to making permanent tax cuts.
If you are challenging an incumbent, in what way has the current officeholder failed the community?
State spending has not been reduced enough to cut taxes permanently, and our state debt has increased.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Crime/Juvenile Justice reforms, local aid to Madison/Durham, local control and the Fentanyl problem.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I have worked with Democrats and Republicans to get things done. I led an office of 110 auditors that are charged with evaluating state government, and making recommendations to improve its operation.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Use your ears more than your mouth.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
While I am a fiscal conservative, I consider myself a social libertarian - I believe in a less intrusive government.
