First Congregational Church Of Madison Collects Food Donations For Community Groups

MADISON, CT — The First Congregational Church of Madison is collecting food and monetary donations through its "From the Green to the Table + Baking" community food initiative.

Through its Farmers Market Donation Tent, local food donations and church baking volunteers, the church distributes food to community organizations including Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries, Christian Community Action and the Madison Senior Center.

The initiative accepts purchases made at the Farmers’ Market, nonperishable food, cash donations and extra fresh produce from home gardeners, according to a recent community update from First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons.

Volunteers with From the Green to the Table + Baking will be at the donation tent to accept approved food and cash donations, provide information about where donations are distributed and connect donors with organizations serving area residents.
