MADISON, CT —The first Osprey of the season landed at Hammonasset Beach State Park Friday morning at 8:39 a.m. as seen, and documented, on the park's Meigs Point Nature Center Osprey cam.

Naturalist ranger Russ Miller shared that winner of the annual Facebook contest to see who captures the first screenshot image of an Osprey's first visit to a Hammonasset nest is Heather S.

Miller, aka Ranger Russ, noted earlier this month that it was anticipated the Osprey would return around St. Patrick's Day.
