First Time Coach Leads Daniel Hand Debate To First Place Finish
The debate team meets weekly at Daniel Hand and is always looking to grow its team, no prior experience necessary.
First time coach Georgios Petrakopoulos, lead the Daniel Hand debate team to victory on Saturday, November 17th at Amity High School.
There were over 200 students from around Connecticut competing and after all was argued and done the team of Hank Cohen and Arthur Wilkens took home first place.

The Daniel Hand debate team is a member of the Connecticut State Debate Association which competes in the extemporaneous style of debate.
The topic of the day was Resolve: The United States should take a no first-strike policy in cyber-warfare.

The participants have just one hour to prepare to argue both affirmative and negative sides of the issue.
In the fourth and final round Cohen and Wilkens argued for the affirmative and won handily in a 4 to 1 decision against East Catholic High School. The debate team meets weekly at Daniel Hand and is always looking to grow its team, no prior experience necessary.
