Former Madison Elementary School Offers Public Pieces of Memorabilia
The shuttered school recently opened to the public for a chance at bringing home memorabilia.

MADISON, CT – The old Academy Elementary School was open recently for memorabilia collectors looking to take a piece of school home with them, the New Haven Register reported.
A town intern and others worked this summer to catalog items that have remained in the school, according to the New Haven Register. The school has been closed since 2004.
Proposals for new usage of the building have been proposed over the years but have not panned out, according to the New Haven Register. The town has contacted various organizations to possibly donate the remaining items to, now that the public has had the opportunity to rummage through the building.
