MADISON, CT – Ever since builder William Plunkett’s group bought the “black house” on the Boston Post Road in April of 2014 there has been wide-spread speculation in town that he would be adding another restaurant to his resume.
That realization may be a step closer with the Planning and Zoning Commission’s recent unanimous approval for a detached garage building to serve the previously approved condominium project at 875 Boston Post Road.

Plunkett is well known around Madison for his opening of Moxie on Wall Street in 2014 and his interest in Scotland Avenue’s Bar Bouchee, opened in 2014.
When his group bought the “black house” over three years ago, he said at the time that another restaurant was a possibility.

At the PZC meeting where the garage was approved, Plunkett was asked by zoners what his plans for the site were.
His answer?
He told commissioner he does not know yet; it could be a restaurant or maybe a residence, but he stated that he has not yet decided.
Stay tuned.
