Future Of Madison Library Project Decided: Report
State officials had balked at part of the town's renovation plans which led to intense discussions.

MADISON, CT — The future of the E.C Scranton Library renovation project was thrown into uncertainty after state officials indicated they may not release up to $2 million in state grants needed for the work. But this week news surfaces that the issue has been rectified and the project is back on track, the Madison Source reports.
The project still includes full demolition of the Hull Building, which had been the stumbling block with state officials who wanted it saved. Part of the compromise with state officials includes the library's building committee making a $10,000 donation to Madison's Historical Society's preservation fund.
Town residents have already approved bonding up to $9 million for the project, which will increase the library's square footage from 17,144 to 37,189 square feet.
