Group of Friends Rescue Buck Floating in Sound, Bring Him Ashore in Madison
While out shark fishing, a group found something completely different in the middle of the ocean.

A group of friends out shark fishing in the Long Island Sound on Saturday encountered a buck swimming in the water six miles offshore, News 8 reported.
As the water was about 58 degrees and the buck seemed close to sinking, they decided to save it, according to News 8. They gently roped the animal’s antlers and pulled it carefully ashore at a Madison beach.
One of the men, Rob Kurdy, jumped in the water when they were close to shore and put a lifejacket on the struggling buck, then pulled it in himself, News 8 reported. Kurdy said he felt it was the right thing to do to save a life, regardless of the creature.
