Handmade Furniture Store Opens In Madison: Report

MADISON, CT — Modern Oak, a handmade furniture store, recently opened in Madison, featuring the creations of Tessa Samuelson a self-taught craftsperson with a woodworking shop, called Woodwerx Co., in North Branford, the Shoreline Times reported.

In addition to tables, desks and cabinets, the store at 73 Wall St. also features vases, dinnerware and drinkware, blankets and throws, and other home goods.

Samuelson told the publication that she learned woodworking, in part, by watching videos on YouTube, and left a career as a medical assistant to create furniture out of a 3,000-square-foot shop and sell it in the Madison store.
