Helicopter Hovers Over Madison Looking for Power Problems

After last week's blizzard Eversource has been using a helicopter to spot low lying branches in towns across Connecticut.

MADISON, CT - After last week's blizzard, Eversource is surveying high-voltage power lines throughout Connecticut, including Madison, checking for any damage done to the lines during the storm that may threaten electric reliability.

A low flying helicopter is being used to also check for tree limbs or branches that may have broken in the high winds and be in a position to potentially damage a line and cause a power outage.

Madison is one of about 80 towns - or half the state - that Eversource is flying the copter over. It will be in the air from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting, through Friday.
