Interim Director of Special Education Named In Madison
The current director has been placed on leave due to a medical issue.

Written by Madison Schools Chief Thomas Scarice,
Good afternoon,
I would like to provide an update to the parents of students in our Town Campus Learning Center (TCLC) preschool program.
As you might be aware, our Director of Special Education, Dr. Liz Battaglia, who also serves as the Principal of the TCLC Preschool, is currently on medical leave. Although we expect that she will return in the near future, in order to continue the work of the district, on Tuesday night, the Board of Education appointed an Interim Director of Special Education, Mrs. Lois Pernice.

Leading up to that appointment, Ryerson Elementary School Principal, Kelly Spooner, and Assistant Superintendent, Gail Dahling-Hench, have cooperated to fill the leadership role at TCLC.
I am pleased to inform the parents of TCLC that Kelly Spooner will continue to serve as the interim Principal of TCLC for the duration of Dr. Battaglia's absence. Kelly is familiar with the preschool program, the TCLC team, and beyond that, she possesses the talent and expertise to lead the preschool community during this transition period. Please feel free to contact Mrs. Spooner at TCLC (203) 245-1078 or by email atspoonerk@madison.k12.ct.us.
