Kennedy Joins Madison Students to Celebrate Read Across America Day

Senator Kennedy read to a third grade class at Jeffrey Elementary School.

State Senator Ted Kennedy, Jr. (D-Branford) visited Jeffrey Elementary School in Madison on Friday to read with students as part of the 19th annual National Read Across America Day.

Kennedy is one of many volunteers across the country who visited schools today to read with students and talk with students about how reading has been important in his life.

“It was great to begin my day reading with this bright, inquisitive group of young students,” said Senator Kennedy in a statement released by his office. “Having the opportunity to meet with students and participate in their education is one of the highlights of my job. I am very grateful to Jeffrey Elementary School, and the students in Mrs. Williams’s 3rd grade class for inviting me into their classroom today.”
