Literacy Volunteers Valley Shore Hosts Book Sale

​On May 4th and 5th, Literacy Volunteers Valley Shore, CT will host its first ever Book Sale.

From Literacy Volunteers Valley Shore: On May 4th and 5th, Literacy Volunteers Valley Shore, CT will host its First Ever Book Sale at Westbrook Public Library, 61 Goodspeed Drive. The sale will take place from 9AM to 5PM on Friday, May 4 and from 9AM to 3PM, May 5.

“We are excited to bring the community together for the benefit of our students and tutors,” Says Executive Director, Christine Homa. “This is a fantastic opportunity for people to get to know Literacy Volunteers Valley Shore CT, and for us to learn more about the needs of our neighbors.”

The sale will be carrying a wide range of books, including current best sellers, mysteries, biographies, travel, to name a few; the book sale caters to all interests. Books are sorted by category, with prices starting as low as 50 cents. We will also offer a collection of jigsaw puzzles and toys for the kids. We are accepting donations of books in good condition (no magazines, encyclopedias, Reader Digest books, old textbooks).

Book donations and paper bags are always needed as well as volunteers for the book sale. If you would like to volunteer for the book sale, please contact LVVS. For more information, please call Literacy Volunteers and speak to a staff member.

“We hope The Book Sale will become an annual event and grow along with us over the next few years,” said Ms. Homa.
