Local Woman Helps Rescue Injured Chicken In Madison

*** A Little Chicken Story***
A couple of days ago a Good Samaritan contacted me about a chicken in rough shape laying under a lamppost at the 95 South rest stop in Madison. Cheryl the caller, stated it had been there from the day before and stayed with the chicken until I arrived.

Madison Veterinary Hospital checked her out for me and determined she had a broken ankle, was very underweight and probably in the middle of a molt( explains her lack of feathers!) “Cheryl” the chicken ( I found it only fitting to name her after her rescuer!) has been graciously taken in by The Hodge family here in Madison where Bob has made her, her very own “She Shed” to recuperate in and then eventually be introduced to their flock.

That’s one lucky chicken! Especially since only a few yards away chicken nuggets were being served up through the drive through window.. Thank You Cheryl Mcgovern for your kindness!
