Madison Ahead on Tax Collection
The town is ahead on collections compared to the previous year.

Madison is ahead on tax collections for the current year, Jack Kramer reports from The Source.
Tax Collector Alma Carroll told The Source that due to tax bills being sent out earlier than usual as well as residents paying their bills instantaneously the town was ahead of where they usually are. According to the paper, the town has collected 53 percent of the $71 million it is owed in taxes, 0.37 percent higher than in 2013 during the same time frame.
Real estate and property taxes are due in two installments while car taxes are due in the middle of the year.
