Madison Announces Upcoming Changes at Surf Club Main Gate
The changes will soon go into effect.

Madison, CT -The Beach and Recreation Department, in cooperation with the First Selectman and the Finance Department, announced today that, effective July 1st, the Town will no longer be accepting cash for daily passes at the Surf Club Main Gate but will begin taking credit cards (Visa, MasterCard and Discover) or personal checks; similar to what is accepted in the main Recreation office, officials announced in a news release.
This change is being done in order to comply with sound accounting principles and to safeguard summer staff members at the town beach, officials said in a statement.
According to Director of Finance, Stacy Nobitz, “this change is a continuation of our plan to update our operations. At the same time, it eliminates having to hold cash at the gate and helps to protect the Town’s assets.”
