Madison Appearance Committee To Review 18-Home Mill Road Development
Officials also may examine downtown pedestrian upgrades, a four-unit apartment proposal and electric vehicle charging plans.
MADISON, CT — A proposed 18-home cluster development on Mill Road is among several housing, infrastructure and land-use applications scheduled for review by the Madison Advisory Committee on Community Appearance next week.

SWPG River Road LLC is seeking a coastal site plan and special exception for an 18-unit small, single-family cluster development on Mill Road. The proposal calls for 18 detached single-family residences, a private road and related improvements for access, utilities, subsurface sewage disposal and stormwater management.

The committee also is scheduled to consider a special exception application for a four-unit apartment building at 397 Durham Road. Applicant David Klein proposes a 40-by-60-foot building along with a driveway, parking, utilities, a subsurface sewage disposal system and stormwater management infrastructure. The property is owned by 397 Durham Apts LLC.
Two town infrastructure proposals affecting the Boston Post Road corridor are also on the agenda.

One application seeks a major Downtown Village District alteration for pedestrian improvements along Boston Post Road, Britton Lane and West Wharf Road. The Town of Madison proposal includes sidewalks and crosswalks.
The committee also may review Phase 3 of the Madison Center Project, which calls for road, pedestrian and landscape improvements along Boston Post Road in the downtown area. The agenda describes the work as part of the previously approved Madison Center Project.
At 1321 Boston Post Road, JL Boure LLC is seeking a site plan modification and coastal site plan to install electric vehicle chargers in the parking lot.
Another application concerns 908 Boston Post Road, where property owners Nicholas J. and Nancy J. Robert are seeking coastal site plan, site plan modification and major Downtown Village District approvals to modify porch railings, a patio and a walkway for a unit in a small cluster housing development.
The committee is also scheduled to consider approval of its July 14 meeting minutes and hear remarks from the committee chair and land use official.
