Michael Nuzzo stated that four tables, two high tops and two low tops with umbrellas, along with 16 chairs, will be placed outside the back door of the restaurant, in the courtyard area.
Vice Chairman Larson questioned the need for high top tables at the courtyard. Mr. Nuzzo stated that during happy hour, some guests prefer the high top tables.

Anderson stated there is a possibility the restaurant may apply for a liquor permit to serve beer and wine outside, and Madison’s health director has reviewed the restaurant for that type of use and is comfortable with it; the state liquor commission may also want some type of fencing, in granting a liquor permit.
Mr. Nuzzo explained that the liquor commission does not require fencing, only that some type of barrier be installed, and plans are to use landscaping for the barrier.
Commissioner Matteson made the motion to approve the application with a waiver of four parking spaces and the condition that ACCA look at any proposed fencing or barrier and that such fencing or barrier proposal be returned to the Planning and Zoning Commission for approval; this was seconded by Commissioner Bunovsky and unanimously approved.
