Ganino, a nationally acclaimed muralist known for large-scale public art projects, donated the artwork to the town. According to the announcement, the project is a personal one for Ganino, whose wife and children live in Madison. The mural's installation coincides with local celebrations marking America 250 and Madison 200, commemorations of the nation's 250th anniversary and the town's bicentennial anniversary.
