Madison Arts Barn Odyssey of the Mind Team Heads to the World Finals

One of the first shoreline teams in years made it to Worlds in their first try!

On March 28th, the Madison Arts Barn Odyssey of the Mind (OM) team came in 2nd place at the Connecticut State Odyssey of the Mind tournament, qualifying the team to attend the World Finals in Iowa in May.

The Madison Arts Barn is a 501(c)(3) organization that empowers shoreline youth through a variety of arts, STEAM, and community-building activities.

OM is an international team-based competition that fosters creativity and collaboration. Teams engage in months-long (“long-term”) and in-the-moment (“spontaneous”) problem-solving challenges.

The Madison Arts Barn OM team is in its inaugural year as a team, making their achievement in the statewide competition a particularly impressive feat. The team is comprised of seven kind and hard-working 4th-7th graders from Guilford and Madison: Owen Chester, Sam Cislo, Linden George, Amelia Kelly, Olivia Morris, Dylan Volpe, and Zach Tolchin. The team is coached by Dorothy Tolchin and Elisabeth George.

The team is grateful for the warm support of shoreline community. They are rapidly trying to raise funds to cover tournament and transportation costs for the World Finals. The team’s fundraising site can be found here:
