Madison Bike Trail Is Very Popular, Officials Say

Economic Development officials discussed the Shoreline Greenway Trail at a recent meeting,

MADISON, CT – Even though the winter months are ones when people tend to stay inside more, the Shoreline Greenway Trail lured Madisonites outside.

At the most recent Economic Development Commission meeting, the EDC heard a report that showed during the past winter 4,100 users made use of the Greenway Trail, according to a measuring device at a checkpoint at the trail.

The same survey is going to be done during all four season of the year, and the numbers are expected to be even higher during the other three seasons when many more people are out biking, walking and enjoying the outdoors.

The Shoreline Greenways Trail Group also told the EDC that will also, in the future, be looking at the economic impact of the trail – noting the close proximity the trail has to many downtown shops and restaurants.
