Madison Board Of Finance To Consider Approving Multimillion Dollar Grant For Road Work

The proposed infrastructure construction project is for Copse and Warpas roads.

MADISON, CT — The Madison Board of Finance is scheduled to consider whether to accept a $2.57 million state transportation grant to fund construction work on Copse Road and Warpas Road when it meets Wednesday night, Jan. 21.

The board’s agenda calls for discussion and possible action on accepting a Local Transportation Capital Improvement Program (LOTCIP) grant totaling $2,570,000. The item is listed as pending approval by the Board of Selectmen and would support road construction on the two town streets.

The meeting is also set to include a presentation of the town’s audited financial statements for the fiscal year that ended in 2025, giving board members and residents an overview of Madison’s financial position and compliance following the independent audit.

Several other money-related items are scheduled for review. The board may take action on accepting a $20,000 donation from The Madison Foundation for Madison Senior Services’ Meals-on-Wheels program. The donation was previously approved by the Board of Selectmen on Dec. 22, 2025.

Board members are also scheduled to discuss and take action on a special appropriation request of $68,100 from the Beach & Recreation Department for storm-related repairs and improvements at the Surf Club. That request was approved by the Board of Selectmen on Jan. 13.

Wednesday's Board of Finance meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Town Campus, Room A, with a hybrid option to attend remotely via Zoom.
