Madison Budget Details: What You Need to Know
The First Selectman says the town needs to run lean.

MADISON, CT — The proposed budget for fiscal 2017-18 is $24.9 million, which increases spending by $600,000 or a 2.47 percent increase over the current budget, the Madison Source reports.
Madison First Selectman Tom Banisch said the budget shows the town is "running lean."

- $50,000 increase to the Ambulance Services account as officials said the program has been underfunded for some time.
Banisch, according to the Source, says he is working on ways to enhance economic development in town. The final town budget won't be approved until May.
Town officials will also need to see what reduction, if any, it will see in the form of state aid as the state is facing a billion dollar deficit and out of control pension costs.
