Madison Considers Proposed $97.8 Million Budget For 2024-25

Workshops are underway to review the proposed spending package.

MADISON, CT — Madison is considering a proposed $97.8 million budget for 2024-25, which represents an increase of about $3.5 million over the current spending plan.

The Board of Selectmen recently voted to recommend the proposed budget, which combines operating costs for town government and Madison Public Schools. Madison's fiscal year begins on July 1.

"The Board of Finance is conducting workshops on the proposed Budget," said First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons in a recent Community Update. "Details on these workshops can be found on the Town calendar."

On April 18, the Board of Finance will hold a Public Hearing for taxpayers to provide public comment. Details on how to attend the Public Hearing will be available on the Town website in April, according to Lyons.

The Annual Budget Referendum is scheduled for May 14. Information on absentee ballots for the Budget Referendum can be obtained by contacting the Town Clerk’s office at 203-245-5672; or by visiting the Town Clerk’s webpage www.madisonct.org/vote.
