Madison Educator Receives Top Honor
The educator received the highest recognition from a statewide group.

MADISON, CT- Martha Curran of the Polson Middle School has been selected as the Connecticut Association of Schools Middle Level Educator of the Year for 2017-18.
She was cited for her strong connection with students, positive energy, passion for her profession. She is a Grade 8 Language Arts teacher and she is also the Middle School Language Arts Coordinator (Grades 5-8).

In her own words, "I light a little spark and watch light bulbs go off for my kids, and if there is no spark, I reflect and know that I have do something differently."
The state board said Curran's love for teaching impacts both her students and colleagues. She will be recognized for this achievement at the October 17th Board of Education meeting.
