Madison Elementary School Teacher Honored

The J. Milton Jeffrey Elementary School teacher was named exemplary educator of the year for all elementary schools in Connecticut.

Madison Public Schools is pleased and proud to announce that Lisa Caldwell, Grade 4 teacher at the J. Milton Jeffrey Elementary School has been selected as the Connecticut Association of Schools Elementary Exemplary Educator of the Year for 2015-16, according to Madison Superintendent of Schools Thomas Scarice.

In her nomination of Ms. Caldwell, Jeffrey School Principal Kathryn Hart said, “Lisa sees each day as an opportunity to make a difference for her students. They know that she cares about them and they return the sentiment by always trying their best…The students who are lucky enough to experience her as their fourth grade teacher receive a gift that lasts a lifetime.”

According to Scarice, “Lisa Caldwell is a powerful teacher who is passionate about her students, her colleagues and her profession. She represents elementary teaching at its best in Connecticut.”

The annual award is based on three criteria: demonstrates excellence in education; demonstrates involvement with students, staff and parents in and out of the classroom; and demonstrates leadership within the profession.

Ms. Caldwell and other CAS award recipients will be honored at a celebration scheduled for the Fall 2015.
