Madison Employee's Clinton Home Destroyed In Fire, Family Needs Help
Domingo Millan, wife Kelly Card and their two children are displaced and in need of donations after a Sept. 1 fire destroyed their home.
CLINTON, CT —Domingo Millan is an equipment operator for the Town of Madison and has been for many years. He and his wife, Kelly Card, and their two children, were displaced when a fire broke out in their Clinton home on the morning of Sept. 1. They've been living out of a motel in Old Saybrook since, and are in desperate need of donations, from shoes and clothing to kitchen appliances and bedding.
Kelly, who said she's lived in Madison "most of my life," posted to Facebook Wednesday that the family has around 10 days to furnish a rental with enough to just move in.
"We have little to nothing. We need everything. Thank you for all your love and caring words and gestures," she wrote on Facebook. "The main thing is I have all of my family."

The day of the fire, when it was clear that they'd lost everything, a friend and neighbor, Cynthia Power, created a GoFundMe.
"Hi, today our next door neighbors had a major fire and have lost everything except the clothes they were wearing. They are all okay and that’s the most important thing but (t)hey are displaced from their home until further notice, insurance and restoration company say it could take a year to repair. It looks like it started from a malfunction with the toaster. We would like to help with raising money for them to make life a little easier in this difficult time. They are going to need to replace everything. I know times are tough financially for everyone right now, but any amount is helpful if you can spare a little, it all adds up. Thank you in advance."
