Madison Eyes Solar Panels for Several Buildings, Expects Big Savings: Report
Officials say not only will the town reduce its energy costs but also save taxpayers a lot of money over time.

MADISON, CT — Looking to save money and also do the environment a favor, the town is looking to install solar panels on seven municipal buildings, the Madison Source reports.
Buildings identified for the solar panels thus far include: Walter C. Polson Middle School, Police Station, Town Gym, Public Works Garage, Senior Center, and the Surf Club.
Town officials say over a 20-year period of time taxpayers could save $500,000. Panels may be installed beginning next summer. Officials say the installation work won't cost the town anything as the town has agreed to pay for the electricity, which is still cheaper than what they currently pay.
