Madison First Selectman Has New Idea for Academy School Land: Report
The First Selectman makes it clear that he looks forward to hearing other ideas from residents.

MADISON, CT — Madison First Selectman Thomas Banisch in a column in the Madison Source writes that the plan is to hold a series of workshops with the public and discuss ideas for the former Academy School property.
He writes that he wants to have a conversation on the school property and the two fields that abut it too, which equals 5 acres that could be attractive to a developer in the "heart of downtown." Banisch writes he believes the land is prime and could increase commercial opportunities downtown.
Banisch expressed support for a mixed-use project that includes commercial and a residential use. He said he doesn't think the Academy property will sell as well without adding the fields too and making the parcel larger and more attractive to sell.
