Madison Hires a New Health Director
Town officials had discussed whether to hire a new director or possibly study joining a regional health district.

MADISON, CT - The town of Madison has hired a new director of health effective June 6.
The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved the hiring of Trent Joseph to the position of Director of Health, effective June 6. He will earn a salary of $86,422. He has served as the East Shore District Health Department sanitarian.
Selectwoman Joan Walker stated, according to meeting minutes, that although she was not in favor of the in- house model, she did feel that this candidate was a great fit and choice for Madison.

Selectman Al Goldberg echoed this same thought, meeting minutes state. He also stated that he felt the Board of Selectmen had underfunded this model and he felt that more discussions would be needed in the future.
