Truck Driver – Public Works

Position Title: Truck Driver – Public Works
Hours of Work: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Salary Range: $21.26 to $25.01 – Union/Teamsters 4 Steps

The Town of Madison is accepting applications for the position of Truck Driver. This position is located in the Highway Department of Public Works. Completed applications must be received in the Human Resources Department no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017. Minimum Training and Experience Required To Perform Essential Job Functions: Completion of High School, Vocational School or equivalent with five (5) to six (6) months of related experience. Position requires a CDLB Connecticut Motor Vehicle License.

COPY OF COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSE SHOULD BE ATTACHED TO THE APPLICATION
Position Purpose: Drives a highway truck, cuts grass and roadside brush, cleans catch basins, patches holds, builds catch basins and plows snow. Uses department equipment and performs various laborer work as assigned. Hauls materials, installs signs. Operates dump truck with plowing attachments and sander to plow and sand Town roads, parking lots, grounds and facilities.

Uses a variety of tools such as jack-hammers, chain saws, clippers and other related equipment. Performs routine repair and maintenance work.
