Hours of Work: TBD – Part time, 20 hours Salary Range: $16.46 to $23.27 Grade 4 – Non Union - Hourly
The Town of Madison is accepting applications for the position of Assessment Technician I. This position is located in the Assessor’s office of the Town. Completed applications must be received in the Human Resources Department no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2017. Minimum Training and Experience Required To Perform Essential Job Functions: Associates Degree plus two (2) years of related experience or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. Experience in title searching and tax relief programs is preferred. A valid Connecticut Driver’s License is required. Municipal experience is highly desirable.
Position Purpose: Performs administrative, clerical and technical work that assists the Assessor in the establishment of the Town’s Grand List. Provides information to the public; answers the telephone, files and operates office equipment.
Maintains data in databases to reflect sales, transfers of interests, probate certificates, land splits, lot line revisions and related research. Completes motor vehicle and personal property additions, deletions and pro-rations at the direction of the Assessor.
Prepares and mails certified letters, Assessor’s correspondences, prorate letters and veteran’s forms. Attaches permits and Certificates of Occupancy to corresponding field cards and arrange inspection routes. Speaks with attorneys and closing assistants regarding information processed by the Assessor’s Office. Performs a wide variety of other administrative duties.
