URGENT MESSAGE TO MADISON RESIDENTS

On September 4 at 7:30 pm, an application will be heard before Madison Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) that has significant implications for our neighborhood. The owners of several properties on Middle Beach Road, are seeking variances to build a 37 foot tall house on what is now known as 151 Middle Beach Road. Below is a photograph of flooding on this lot. It is inundated on a frequent basis, is located of tidal wetlands, and has never contained a livable building. The Town has gone on record since 1990 stating that the lot is unbuildable. This building will divert flood water on to other homes , and may lead to additional development further degrading our fragile wetlands.
Please attend the meeting and voice your concerns. Also, a letter to the ZBA would also be very helpful. It should be addressed to Mr. John DeLauro, Zoning Enforcement Officer, Madison Town Hall, 8 Campus Drive 06443. If you can not attend, please ask a neighbor to bring your letter to the meeting or email it to delauraj@madisonct.org.
