Madison Jaycees Turkey Trot Road Closures Announced

The Madison Jaycees Turkey Trot will be held on Thursday, November 23, 2017, commencing at 10:00 AM. The race will proceed south on Island Avenue from the Town Green before turning eastbound along the shoreline to Waterbury Avenue; then returning to the Town Green. The Turkey Trot will require road closures and will result in traffic disruption in and around the Town Green.

Residents and motorists should expect traffic delays along the race route between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM as well as increased traffic and detours around the Town Green starting as early as 8:00AM.

Affected areas will include Boston Post Road (Route 1) and all intersecting roads between Durham Road (Rt. 79) and Janna’s Lane, including:

 Boston Post Road (Route 1)

 Durham Road (Route 79)

 Academy Street

 Copse Road

 Island Avenue

 Britton Lane

 West Wharf Road

 Lantern Hill Road

 Rock Ledge Drive

 Janna’s Lane

Access to the following roads will be extremely limited during the event:

 Island Avenue

 Middle Beach Road West

 Middle Beach Road

 Seaview Avenue

Motorists are encouraged to be patient and seek alternate routes during the Turkey Trot.
