MADISON, CT – State Rep. Noreen Kokoruda is sponsoring legislation which would make it easier for those who received a ticket years ago for a traffic violation to renew their licenses.
Kokoruda, a member of the General Assembly’s Transportation Committee, this week testified in favor of “An Act Concerning Drivers’ License Renewals.”

On her Facebook page, Kokoruda, who represents Madison, said: “Over the years, my office has received many calls from constituents who were unable to renew their driver’s license.
“The reason, an outstanding traffic violation from a decade or more ago.”

Kokoruda went on: “Passage of this bill would allow for these old violations to be forgiven and prevent people who have 10 plus years of an acceptable driving record to renew their license.”
The committee heard testimony, but has yet to take a vote on the measure.
If it did make it through committee, it would still need approval from the full General Assembly and the governor’s signature before it became law.
