MADISON, CT – In its first-ever holiday production for the entire family, Madison Lyric Stage, a professional non-profit theater company, is presenting Gian Carlo Menotti’s delightful classic story of the journey of the three kings.

A holiday event for audiences of all ages, Amahl and the Night Visitors is the story of a magic star, a young shepherd, and how unselfish love can work miracles. Originally commissioned by NBC, it was the first opera written for television.

This heartwarming tale is cherished for its poignant music and endearing story. It is a beautiful reminder of the spirit of giving and the magic of the holidays.

“Amahl and the Night Visitors quickly became and has remained a holiday tradition,” said Marc Deaton, artistic director of Madison Lyric Stage. “We are so excited to be able to present what could become an annual event here on the shoreline for the entire family.”

Performances are Saturday, December 14 at 7:00 and Sunday, December 15 at 4:00, and will be held at Madison’s First Congregational Church located at 26 Meeting House Lane. Tickets for adults are $30 and children under 10 are $10, and are available at madisonlyricstage.org.
