Madison Man Charged With Possession Of Child Sexual Abuse Material: Police
A 78-year-old man was arrested after a nearly year-and-a-half investigation, according to Guilford police.
MADISON, CT — Guilford police announced on Wednesday the arrest of a 78-year-old man who was charged with second-degree possession of child sexual abuse material.
Kenneth Sloan, of Madison, was arrested on Feb. 26 after an "extensive investigation," police said in an announcement.
An investigation into Sloan began on Oct. 1, 2024, when Guilford police received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding an individual suspected of possessing child sexual abuse material, police said.

Authorities eventually obtained a search warrant at a home in Madison on Jan. 7, 2025, where numerous electronic devices were seized, police said. Guilford detectives then secured an arrest warrant for Sloan.
Sloan was taken to New Haven Superior Court after his arrest last week and was held on a $50,000 bond, police noted.

The Guilford Police Department is a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, a nationwide network of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies dedicated to investigating, prosecuting, and preventing technology-facilitated child exploitation.
"The Guilford Police Department regularly collaborates with affiliated agencies in conducting these complex investigations. Cyber investigations require an extensive amount of investigative time, effort, and patience," the GPD said.
"The Guilford Police Department remains committed to completing these investigations in a timely and thorough manner in order to keep Guilford and surrounding communities safe from these and related criminal activities."
The GPD thanked the Madison Police Department, Wallingford Police Department, Westport Police Department, New Britain Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, the CT State Forensic Laboratory and the New Haven State’s Attorney’s Office for their assistance in the investigation.
