Madison Election 2017 Results: Vote Totals For All Races

The town voted on several local positions on Nov. 7. Here are the full vote totals for all races.

MADISON, CT – There wasn’t much drama on election night in Madison as incumbent Republican First Selectman Tom Banisch had no opposition in his run for a second term. Banisch received 2,372 votes, anyway from Madison voters and will be returning to office.

In other races, Democrats outpolled the Republicans in the Board of Selectmen races. The top vote getter was Democrat Al Goldberg with 2,005 votes. He was followed by fellow Democrat Scott Murphy who received 1,978 votes. Republican Bruce Wilson got 1,622 votes, followed by Republican Jean Ferris, who got 1,611.

In the race for Board of Finance, the top vote getter was Republican Jean Fitzgerald, who got 2,102 votes. Next was Democrat Judith Hession Friedman who got 1,986, then came Republican Ken Kaminsky, Jr. who got 1,931. After that came Republican Peter Roos with 1,808. Trailing the field was Green Party candidate Owen Charles with 1,113 votes.

For the Board of Education, the top vote getter was Democrat Alison Keating with 2,307 votes, followed by Democrats Emily Rosenthal with 2,140 and Matt Parthasarthy with 2,112. Republican Jessica Bowler got 2,055 votes, followed by fellow Republicans Violet McNerney with 1,975 and Kirk Barneby with 1,814. Trailing the field was Green Party candidate Michael Abbondanolo with 1,156.

For the Board of Assessment Appeals, Democrat Shirley Taylor with 1,830 votes topped Republican William Lewis with 1,702 votes in a close race.

For the Zoning Board of Appeals, the top vote getter was Democrat Richard Gilbert with 1,836 votes, followed by fellow Democrat Jason Brown, with 1,744 votes; Republican Jeanne Wilson Stevens got 1,742 votes, and Republican William Piggot got 1,654 votes.

Charon Squitiero ran unopposed as a Republican candidate for Zoning Board of Appeals alternate, garnering 2,273 votes.
