Madison Nature Center to Face Hour Reductions After Opening in May
After opening just before Memorial Day, the $4 million facility will now see reduced hours after Labor Day.

MADISON, CT – The Meigs Point Nature Center is facing the possibility of hour reductions after Labor Day due to state budget cuts, according to media reports.
The facility officially opened on May 26, after a 10-year push from the Friends of Hammonasset, according to the New Haven Register. The new center started construction last year and cost approximately $4 million.
It has become apparent in the last few weeks, however that Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP) budget cuts will affect the nature center, according to the Madison Source. It was originally suggested that the nature center would need to close during the offseason.
